Life as a Certified Caregiver: Why Supervision Matters

One of the questions we're asked most often is: what makes a Calista Care caregiver different from someone hired informally? The answer comes down to training and supervision.
Every caregiver placed by our agency is a Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Caregiver trained at a recognised institution. But training is only the beginning. Our board of directors — licensed doctors and registered nurses — continues to supervise every placement, reviewing care plans and staying available for guidance.
For caregivers, this means ongoing support rather than being left to work alone. For families, it means confidence that care is being delivered safely and within each caregiver's approved scope of practice.
It's this structure of continuous supervision, not just a single background check at hiring, that we believe makes the real difference in the quality of care a family receives.
